A new B&Q store is set to open at a Nottinghamshire retail park in the spring. The new store building has almost been complete at The Maltings Retail Park and will have a wide range of products available for shoppers, as well as other services like home delivery and click and collect.
Located in Newark, the building has been under construction since July 2022 and will be opening its doors for the first time in the upcoming months. Although an exact opening date has not yet been confirmed, the store has started searching for staff members. Up to 30 jobs have been created.
Speaking previously, a B&Q spokesperson said: “We look forward to opening our doors and supporting the people of Newark with all their home improvement needs.”
The Maltings Retail Park opened last year, and, as well as B&Q, the site is also home to an M&S food hall, Costa Coffee and Greggs. In addition to these businesses a number of high-powered EV chargers for electric vehicles have also been installed at the site by Osprey Charging Network.
It comes weeks after B&Q announced the closure of several 'mini-market' sites within Asda supermarkets across the country, under a longer-term plan to expand other B&Q shops.
