Correction: A previous version of this article reported that second cost of living payment had been confirmed to be sent out from 1 October. This was incorrect. The DWP have advised that there is 'no update on the £324 payment yet, but we’ll definitely let people know as soon as we can'. We are happy to clarify this.
The second cost of living payment is due to be paid into people's bank accounts in the autumn. The latest instalment marks the second part of a £650 cost of living package for struggling households, according to Stoke-on-Trent Live.
The £650 cost of living grant was announced by the then chancellor Rishi Sunak in May, and is paid to all households on means-tested benefits, including those receiving universal credit, income-based jobseeker’s allowance, income-related employment and support allowance, income support, working tax credit, child tax credit and pension credit.
