This week we are certainly seeing signs of Spring. The bulbs are up in the garden, daffodils are in the shops and, for this week at least, the sun is shining, with temperatures expected to hit 17 degrees.
Spring is truly here - although identifying the exact day that Spring arrives is another story. It depends upon whether you're looking at astronomical spring or meteorological spring.
Astronomical seasons refer to the position of Earth's orbit in relation to the Sun, according to the Met Office, and take into account equinoxes and solstices.

In 2022, the first day of astronomical spring was on Sunday, March 20, and will end on Tuesday, June 21. Meteorological spring, on the other hand, will always take place on March 1, and the season will end every year on May 31.
But spring is also the time when the clocks 'spring' forward. And that time is this weekend. On Sunday, March 27, 2022, you'll lose an hour of sleep but gain an hour of daylight in the evening.
And there is more good news. As we enter British Summer Time the daylight hours will gradually get longer.
So, what time should you start changing those timepieces? According to the Government website, 1am is the magical hour for putting clocks forward on the last Sunday in March every year. When it comes to turning the clocks back on the last Sunday in October for Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), the time shift is at 2.00am ready to reset again the following spring.
