The man charged with the alleged murders of three members of a North Queensland farming family has had his case adjourned due to delays in receiving forensic evidence.
Daryl Valroy Young, 59, appeared in Bowen Magistrates Court on Tuesday for a case mention.
It is alleged Mr Young fatally shot Mervyn Schwarz, 71, Maree Schwarz, 59, and Graham Tighe, 35, at their rural property in Bogie in August last year.
No pleas have been entered.
Ross Tighe, 30, was also shot but managed to escape and alert authorities.
A group of about five people attended the brief mention in support of the Schwarz family.
Outside the court, one of the women said they were very "close" to the Schwarz family.
Evidence outstanding
Mr Young is charged with a string of weapons charges, as well as three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
Police prosecutors told the court there was still material outstanding in the brief of evidence that was due on February 4.
An affidavit had also not been supplied to Mr Young's solicitor Andrew McGinness.
Prosecutors requested a two to three-month adjournment to provide forensic evidence such as ballistics and telecommunication data that they are relying on from an external agency.
Mr McGinness requested the matter be brought before the court again at the next available sitting to seek directions regarding the provision of materials.
He said the last affidavit defence had received was from the arresting officers on October 31.
Acting Magistrate Ron Muirhead ordered an affidavit be supplied to Mr Young's solicitor today.
The matter was adjourned until February 21.
