Marquee summer signing Darwin Nunez was noticeably absent from a Liverpool squad photo on Christmas Eve as they prepare to face Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
Nunez's absence has sparked plenty of speculation among the Anfield faithful, with some fearing that he may have picked up an injury in their League Cup defeat to Manchester City. At this stage, it is unclear why Nunez was not pictured with the rest of his teammates.
He was not the only notable omission, with Roberto Firmino also not pictured alongside other injured players such as Luis Diaz, Arthur Melo and Diogo Jota. The pictures were taken as part of Liverpool's festive well-wishes to their fanbase as they made their way onto the training pitches on Christmas Eve.
