Los Angeles Lakers superstar big man Anthony Davis was on an absolute tear when he suffered a stress injury in his right foot on Dec. 16.
In the 13 games prior to his injury, he was averaging 32.4 points on 64.1 percent shooting, 14.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots per game, and during that span, he was arguably the best player in the NBA.
The Lakers have struggled at times without Davis in the lineup, although they recently had a five-game winning streak before they lost their last two games in a row.
Davis has reportedly been making positive progress in his rehab, and according to head coach Darvin Ham, that progress has continued.
Darvin Ham said Anthony Davis was on the court a bit today. Did not say Davis is necessarily close to returning yet, but that he’s “trending in the right direction.”

Los Angeles is 19-22, and although it is one game behind the Phoenix Suns for 10th place in the Western Conference and two games behind the Los Angeles Clippers for sixth place, every loss from here on out will carry greater weight compared to November and December.
