Darts star forced to withdraw from Premier League night in Dublin due to health scare

  • Gian van Veen has withdrawn from Premier League Darts Night Seven in Dublin after being diagnosed with kidney stones.
  • The 23-year-old, who was runner-up at the World Championship in January, remains in hospital and will not compete at the 3Arena.
  • His scheduled opponent, Michael van Gerwen, will now receive a bye directly into the semi-finals.
  • Van Gerwen will also be awarded two league points and a plus one leg difference, while Van Veen's leg difference will be minus six.
  • Van Veen currently holds fourth place in the Premier League table, with 10 weeks of competition remaining.
