Dartford Crossing protesters agree to end protest and leave bridge

Police Dartford Crossing Dartford Just Stop Oil Oil Kent Police

Police brought a raised platform to the Dartford Crossing to remove the two protesters who climbed the QEII Bridge on Monday morning. The bridge has been shut since Monday after two activists scaled it early in the morning.

The two Just Stop Oil activists who have blocked the crossing for the past two days have agreed to end their protest, the group said. Just Stop Oil tweeted: “Morgan and Marcus have agreed to cooperate with police and leave the bridge. #JustStopOil will continue in #CivilResistance to harmful politics and our criminal government. To protect our rights, freedoms and the rule of law”.

Witnesses at the scene saw the raised platform brought in by Essex Police being elevated.
