Controversial GB News presenter Darren Grimes has sparked rumours that he's been sacked from GB News after deleting all of his tweets - apart from one - and changing his Twitter bio.
The 29 year old right-wing political commentator, who joined the channel earlier this year, mysteriously removed all of his tweets yesterday. He left only one up last night, 11 hours ago, which read: "Update coming shortly..."
He has also completely removed his profile bio, which linked to his weekend GB News show.
It had previously announced: "Proud northerner. 'Real Britain', Saturday and Sunday from 2PM on @GBNews. Founder of @ReasonedUK. #NUFC fan."
Among the tweets he deleted included his denials that he was leaving GB News.
The Spectator's Diary Editor James Heale had tweeted back on September 1 that he understood that Grimes was "also leaving GB News".
In response, the commentator had replied: "This is news to me. I love GB News, the values of the channel and those that tune in to watch my show. I'm on holiday."
Heale added at the time: "Happy to say this was from three sources at GB News. Darren's own response is that his position hasn't changed."
He recently retweeted his original tweet.
Spotting Grimes' unusual social media activity, Twitter users began to speculate that Grimes had indeed been sacked.
Sharing screengrabs of the tweets, one user tweeted: "This is amazing. First Darren Grimes apprars [sic] to have been fired by GBNews, but no one in HR told him...
"Then Grimes denies it on Twitter... Then he deletes his tweet history...
"Finally, he deletes his bio, and all photos linked to GBNews, adding that he'll provide an update."
While another commented: "It should tell you everything you need to know about Darren Grimes as a journalist that he got fired and missed out on the story."
The Mirror has reached out to GB News for clarification and comment.
