'Darling' mum, 28, dies in road smash as son, 4, fights for his life

A mum-of-two tragically killed in a North Wales road smash has been called a "darling girl" in a tribute by her parents.

Emma Louise Morris, 28, died and a four-year-old, believed to be her son, has been left with life-threatening injuries following the road collision on the A487 last Monday.

Three other people were also seriously injured in the incident near Caernarfon.

Emma's parents today issued a statement via North Wales Police saying: "Our beautiful daughter has been cruelly taken from us - and too soon.

"At just 28 years old, our darling girl had so much more life to live. Emma Louise Morris was beautiful inside and out and will leave an enormous void in all of our lives.

"We are very grateful for all the kind words received from family and friends but we would ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time and we will not issue any further comment. We continue to monitor our grandson who remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital. We pray that he will heal soon."

The collision occurred around 7pm on Monday, April 3, when police received reports of a crash involving a dark grey Audi A3 saloon, BMW 1 series, Peugeot 208 and a Skoda Octavia.

Emma was driving the Peugeot and sadly she was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the wake of the tragedy, a JustGiving fundraiser was organised by friends to help Emma's two sons and their father. In less than 24 hours, it has raised more than £1,300 towards its £2,000 target.

The organiser wrote: "Emma was the greatest friend to everyone and her beautiful smile could light up any room. She was one in a million. Emma will be missed by all her family and friends and everyone that knew her."

The four-year-old child was taken to Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool, with life-threatening injuries. Another woman was airlifted to Stoke Hospital in a serious condition and two further people were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, with serious injuries.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage leading up to the incident between 6.30pm-7pm. Officers are particularly keen to secure footage the Audi.
