M&D’s famous Darktober returns to Scotland’s Theme Park in October with the launch of a new outdoor immersive horror experience called ‘The Well’.
Running on various dates and times, the fright nights will take place from Saturday, October 1y, until Monday, October 31.
Last year the experience was voted winner of the UK’s Scary Vision Award 2021 and this year ‘The Well’ promises to excel it in scares, jumps and all things spooktacular.
Set in an abandoned farm with a bloody history surrounding ‘The Well’, visitors to the attraction will find themselves immersed in a gory tale of disappearances where those who dare visit will come face to face with the creatures who’ve crawled from the depths, back with a vengeance.
Darktober provides the opportunity for visitors to ride in the dark on a selection of outdoor rides, such as The Twister, Rip Tide, Dancing Galleons and many more, with a special Darktober wristband enabling people access to the rides as many times as they like on the date of their visit.
Jensen Taylor Connelly of M&Ds told Lanarkshire Live : “Darktober is a popular event at M&D’s and this year the fear factor has been elevated with ‘The Well’ which promises to be a great attraction for the Halloween season - for those brave enough.”
‘The Well’ is only suitable for 15 year olds and above or 12 year olds if accompanied by a paying adult. Online tickets for Darktober and ‘The Well’ are priced at £23.45 or can be purchased separately at a cost of £14 for The Well or £9.95 for Darktober.
During October younger visitors to M&D’s can also enjoy the Pumpkin Outdoor Festival.
A family favourite, the Outdoor Festival features new ghostly story telling about Witch Wizzbottom’s Magical Book by Folksy Theatre, Bash a Pumpkin Game, where everyone receives a prize, the Pumpkin Trail and the Pumpkin Patch where visitors can pick the pumpkin of their choice.
Children can also enjoy a trip on the Pumpkin Express Train as well as new Halloween themed arts and crafts.
The Pumpkin Outdoor Festival will take place on selected dates and times from Saturday, October 8 until Sunday, October 30. Dedicated ASN performances will also take place at 11am on Sunday, October 23 and 5pm on Thursday, October 27. Online tickets are priced at £8.50 which includes a hot drink or £10.95 which includes a pumpkin.
