Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is closing in on its Disney+ debut. And, with the Marvel TV show set to return to our screens on March 24/25, you don't have long to get the full lowdown on what we know about its next installment.

Well, listen up, because I've rounded up the latest and biggest news about Daredevil: Born Again's next chapter in this guide. So, whether you want to rewatch its first trailer, learn more about its cast and/or story, and are looking for some insights into the live-action series' future, you've come to the right place. Here, then, is what we know so far about Daredevil: Born Again 2.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 release date prediction

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is set to premiere in March 24 (North and South America) and March 25 (everywhere else).

We already knew that the Marvel Phase 6 TV show would drop sometime in March. Indeed, showrunner Dario Scardapane previously confirmed Born Again's second season would land on Disney+ in March 2026 before Marvel Studios doubled-down on that launch month last October.

There's no word on whether it'll arrive with a two-episode premiere like its predecessor or if Born Again season 2 will debut with a single entry. Once I know more, I'll update this section.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 trailer

It took a while, but Marvel finally unveiled the first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again season 2 in late January.

There's a lot to unpack from this quick-cut teaser, but it doesn't really give us a sense of what this season is about or who some of the show's new character additions. It's a good job, then, that you can learn more about them in the sections that follow.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 cast: confirmed and rumored

Spoilers follow for Daredevil: Born Again season 1.

Here's the confirmed cast for Daredevil: Born Again season 2 so far:

  • Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil
  • Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk
  • Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page
  • Elden Henson as Franklin 'Foggy' Nelson
  • Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn
  • Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Pointdexter/Bullseye
  • Zabryna Guevara as Sheila Rivera
  • Nikki M. James as Kristen McDuffie
  • Genneya Walton as B.B. Urich
  • Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman
  • Clark Johnson as Cherry
  • Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blake
  • Ayelet Zuhrer as Vanessa Fisk
  • Camila Rodriguez as Angela del Toro
  • Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne
  • Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones
  • Susan Varon as Josie
  • Royce Johnson as Brett Mahoney
  • Matthew Lilliard as Mr. Charles
  • Lili Taylor as Marge McCaffrey

The biggest casting news is that Ritter will return as Jessica Jones, aka the superpowered private investigator she portrayed in Netflix's Marvel TV Universe.

Daredevil: Born Again season 1 ended up being more closely aligned to Daredevil's Netflix series after its creative overhaul. So, it was a case of when, not if, Jones and other characters from Netflix's Marvel-Verse would make the leap to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Speaking to The Playlist, Ritter revealed she's known she'd be back as Jones for over two years, so her return has been a long time coming. Per Marvel's Head of TV Brad Winderbaum, Born Again season 2 will feature some "cool surprises" concerning Jones, too.

Could those surprises correlate with rumors that other heroes from Netflix's Marvel-Verse will appear in Born Again?

Mike Colter, who played Luke Cage in Netflix's aforementioned franchise, has played his cards very close to his chest over potentially reprising his role as Harlem's unbreakable man. Speaking on Shawn Stockman's On The Note Podcast, he stated he'd had "conversations" about returning as Cage, but refused to say if he'd show up in Born Again's next entry.

Some fans still believe Foggy is alive and well in the MCU (Image credit: Marvel Studios/Disney+)

Henson's return as Foggy Nelson also continues to be a big talking point.

Foggy was seemingly killed by Bullseye in Born Again's first episode but, following the show's two-episode premiere, Marvel fans theorized that Foggy may still be alive. Some pointed out that Nelson's apparent death was eerily similar to how he faked his own demise in an Ed Brubaker-written Daredevil comic series in the mid-2010s, which Born Again is loosely based on.

For his part, Cox suggested Foggy is really dead and gone (per The Direct). However, Cox also told On The Red Carpet that he's filmed a 2015 flashback scene for season 2 alongside an unnamed actor. And, with Henson's Nelson shown in season 2's first teaser, it appears this is what Cox was referring to.

Matthew Lilliard will play the mysterious Mr. Charles (right) in season 2 (Image credit: Marvel Studios/Disney+)

Newcomers-wise, Lilliard (Five Nights at Freddy's, Scooby Doo) is on board as someone called Mister Charles. Winderbaum told Entertainment Weekly (EW) that Lilliard's character is" a bit of a new antagonist on the field" and is "as influential, in many ways, as Fisk is" on the political stage.

Meanwhile, Taylor is played Governor McCaffrey, who'll be another thorn in the side of Mayor Fisk. Taking to Instagram in late 2025, Royce Johnson confirmed he's back as Brett Mahoney from Daredevil's Netflix adaptation, too. Cox has also indicated (via The Hollywood Reporter (THR)) that other MCU characters might cameo in season 2. That follows Ms. Marvel's dad having a substantial supporting role in season 1 episode 5, so place your bets now on who could show up.

Finally, one individual who isn't in Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is Frank Castle/The Punisher. Per Empire magazine – as reported by GamesRadar – the anti-hero's forthcoming Disney+ special, plus his supporting role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will mean he's otherwise engaged.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 story synopsis

Full spoilers follow for Daredevil: Born Again season 1.

Here's Born Again season 2's plot brief: "In Season 2, Mayor Wilson Fisk crushes New York City underfoot as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil. But, beneath the horned mask, Matt Murdock will try to fight back from the shadows to tear down the Kingpin’s corrupt empire and redeem his home. Resist. Rebel. Rebuild."

Based on how its forebear ended – read my Daredevil: Born Again season 1 ending explained piece for more – and what its cast has teased, there's plenty more we can extrapolate about its story.

For starters, Cox has hyped up this season's narrative, telling Collider that it's "some of my favorite stuff I've read". D'Onofrio also told journalists (per IGN) that he "had to have a little cry about" this season's scripts due to the emotional impact they'll have on viewers.

Unsurprisingly, season 2 will see Matt go to some dark places – and he'll need Karen to help him see the light (Image credit: Marvel Studios/Disney+)

Those quotes are telling in light of season 2's "resistance story", Scardapane told TVInsider. Indeed, last season's finale revealed Matt Murdock and Karen Page had co-founded an underground resistance movement that'll fight Fisk's fascist regime to regain control of New York's streets.

We already have a sense of how they'll do so. Last March, first-look images for season 2 appeared online showing Murdock and Page wearing disguises (or what passes for a disguise in the MCU). Clearly, they're scoping out something or someone, or they're on the hunt for new allies to join their cause.

It's thematically interesting that Fisk will wear white clothing this season, while Murdock will wear black... (Image credit: Marvel Studios/Disney+)

That won't be the only costume overhaul Murdock will get. He'll also sport Daredevil's classic black suit, complete with its red-colored 'DD' logo on the chest, next season. A Daredevil: Born Again season 2 picture leak gave us our first glimpse at the Marvel hero's new outfit before it was revealed in official photographs and this season's trailer.

Season 2 will also result in a new crisis of faith for Murdock. Chatting to Collider, Cox said he'll "no longer trust [his] instincts and be clear-minded about what the next right step is, so he questions a lot. He kind of backtracks a bit. He’s clearly unsure and finding that he has to take gambles and hope that he’s making the right choice."

Luckily, Murdock has Page back by his side. Speaking to EW, Scardapane suggested their bond will be more important than ever, adding: "Karen Page is the heart and soul of Matt Murdock's world, and even more so now that Foggy is not part of that trio. You can tell at the end of the season, she's the one telling him to be wrath, you have to be mercy, you have to be there for your city. The idea of her and him moving forward into a dangerous time in New York, yeah, she's a huge part of it."

Tom Holland's Spider-Man won't appear in season 2 (Image credit: Sony Pictures)

One hero who's seemingly destined not to join Daredevil's cause (on the small screen, anyway) is Spider-Man.

There were references to Tom Holland's webslinger in Born Again episode 2 and Daredevil: Born Again episode 3. However, Sony Pictures owns the live-action rights to Spider-Man. Unless Marvel struck an expensive deal with Sony, Peter Parker won't make show up.

Nonetheless, Winderbaum has revealed (per EW) that Daredevil: Born Again season 2 and Spider-Man: Brand New Day are connected in some way, adding "there's coherence there... we don't want to spoil anything, but it very much exists in the same world and it is important."

That slightly contradicts Marvel President Kevin Feige's previous comments that events that occur in MCU movies won't impact and/or be referenced in their TV counterparts. For example, when asked if what happens in Thunderbolts*, whose finale takes place in New York, will affect Daredevil: Born Again season 2, Feige simply said: "No".

So, while Thunderbolts' third act won't impact this show's next chapter, it's possible Born Again season 2 and Brand New Day will either run concurrently or impact the other's narrative. However, Cox has stated he won't appear in Spider-Man 4 (per the Phase Hero podcast's Brandon Davis, so I guess that long-awaited team-up will have to, well, wait.

Will there be a third season of Daredevil: Born Again?

Born Again season 3 is already on the way? Happy faces all around! (Image credit: Marvel Studios)

Yes. Winderbaum confirmed (via IGN) that a third season has been greenlit.

Per Collider, producer Jesse Wigutow suggested principal photography will begin in early 2026, executive producer Sana Amanat says the scripts are being worked on (via Empire magazine, as reported by Heroic Hollywood), and action director Philip Silvera confirmed (per Instagram) that work has begun on next season's stunts.

There'll be at least one Daredevil: Born Again offshoot coming to Disney+, aka one of the world's best streaming services, too.

Per THR, a special presentation starring Frank Castle/The Punisher will air sometime this year. It's been co-written by Bernthal and We Own This City director Reinaldo Marcus Green, was filmed in 2025, and, per EW, will connect to Born Again season 2's story.

As I mentioned earlier, Marvel may also look to revisit characters from Netflix's Defenders-Verse. Speaking to ComicBook.com, Winderbaum intimated it was "inevitable" that Cage and Danny Rand/Iron Fist would make their MCU debuts. In conversation with EW, Scardapane added these "iconic characters are always in your mind", so don't be shocked if a new Defenders project is eventually announced.
