Australia star Darcy Swain has been suspended for six weeks following the incident that sparked outrage and ended an All Blacks opponent's season.
The second row recklessly took out the leg of Quinn Tupaea as he was jackaling for the ball, rupturing his medial cruciate ligament, ending his season and inviting strong criticism from pundits and former players.
Swain received just a yellow card for his actions before the citing commissioner stepped in after the game.

A Sanzaar Judicial Committee Hearing found Swain guilty of contravening Law 9.11 "players must not do anything that is reckless or dangerous to others".
The committee said the incident was "not intentional, however, it was highly reckless".
He has been suspended up to and including November 6, meaning he will be available for the majority of Australia's autumn internationals, which see them play Wales in Cardiff on November 26.
Former All Black Lima Sopoaga was one of many calling for a lengthy ban for Swain, saying: "Hope there is a lengthy ban for rubbish like this."
Former England No 10 Andy Goode described the foul play as "shocking", while ex Samoa international Junior Poluleuligaga called it a "a dog act".
