Danny Miller breaks silence on I'm A Celeb 'snub' after Jill Scott crowned winner

Danny Miller has broken his silence over reports ITV snubbed him during the final of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

The Emmerdale actor, 31, won the show in 2021 with some fans thinking the star would have gone Down Under to hand over the crown to this year's winner Jill Scott.

The exchange hasn't happened since 2017 when Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo was given the floral staff by 2016 winner Scarlett Moffatt.

However, this didn't stop fans tweeting asking why Danny wasn't in the jungle.

One asked "Why didn't Danny Miller crown Jill? #ImACeleb."

While another mused: "Thought Danny Miller may have been there to crown Jill?"

Responding to the Jill's victory, Danny tweeted: "Deserved winner @JillScottJS8 ! A pleasure to hand over the crown to you! Enjoy it!"

It has now understood the previous winners were only in Australia the year after winning the show to film the programme's spin-off Get Me Out Of Here Now on ITV2.

However, now the show's been axed there is no reason for the outgoing kings and queens to make the epic trip from the UK.

Danny was declared victorious when I'm A Celeb was still being filmed in Grwych Castle in Wales due to the pandemic.

The actor was in the final three with Corrie actor Simon Gregson and The Saturdays star Frankie Bridge.

As the show made a welcome return to Australia this year, Danny had a lot to say about the class of 2022 - in particular Matt Hancock.

The actor, known for playing Aaron Livesy in Emmerdale, suggested viewers would want to punish to the disgraced MP for breaking his own lockdown rules.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain earlier this month, he said: “I think he needs to just accept the fact that he is going to be everyone’s toy.

“Last year, unfortunately, Naughty Boy got it because he did the first one [challenge] and he was very entertaining and everyone then went, ‘Naughty Boy, Naughty Boy, Naughty Boy!’.

"This year, I think regardless of how entertaining he is, [Hancock] needs to accept that what he has put us through. I think the public are going to say, ‘This is what we are going to put you through’.

“And when they are done with him they will just get rid of him, I think."

However, the former Health Secretary beats the odds, bagging himself a top three place on the popular prime time show.

Mr Hancock is still in Australia where he's said to be doing a number of interviews - leaving girlfriend Gina Coladangelo to fly home alone.
