Danniella Westbrook has admitted she hates her post-surgery face after she was left with a one-inch hole in her head following a botched operation in Turkey.
The TV soap star - best known for her role as Sam Mitchell on Eastenders - underwent reconstruction surgery on her nose after her septum collapsed due to years of drug addiction. But the 49-year-old said she “can’t believe what’s been done to her” after seeing the results of the operation.
She had a surgical thread lift - which involves temporary stitches being used to produce a lift in the skin - and fat transfer in an attempt to fix a past bungled surgery. However, she has now been left with a one-inch hole in her head and described the entire experience as a 'nightmare', the Mirror reports.
Taking to Instagram, the actress shared a photo of herself with the caption: "Three months ago I looked like this and thought I looked awful. I'd give my world to look like this again...
"I can't believe what's been done to me with this surgery."
She had hoped to have her nose rebuilt after years of cocaine use caused her septum to collapse. But instead, Danniella was left with “big lumps of fluid over her belly”.
“I don’t know how it’s gone so wrong," she said previously. "I think it was a bit of miscommunication. I just wish I had never gone to Turkey to have it done. I will never have surgery abroad ever again."
Following the operation, Danniella travelled to Portugal where she was rushed to hospital after stitches burst and she “lost sight in one eye”. She told OK! magazine: “It wasn’t until I was washing my hair that I realised the stitches had come undone and I had an open wound."
“I literally have a hole on the side of my head. It’s about an inch long. I could actually put my finger in the hole, which was awful."
Danniella, who described herself as looking like a Shar Pei because her face was so swollen, said she was left in "unimaginable pain" and wasn't able to take any painkillers due to her past drug abuse. She also previously revealed she was so terrified that she would die on the operating table, she wrote a will.
Admitting she felt like "curling up and dying", the actress said she has 'bits of thread sticking out of the top of her head' and a bald patch after her head was shaved during surgery. Claiming she “hates what she sees”, the mum-of-two admitted she's been put off by going under the knife again, but says there is “one last operation she needs to have”.
The actress hopes to have the bridge of her nose reconstructed in the Liverpool, saying as soon as she's healed, she'll “see what can be done”.
