A Place in the Sun star Danni Menzies has sent a message of support to her co-star Jonnie Irwin following his terminal cancer diagnosis.
Jonnie, 48, shared the heartbreaking news that he was filming in Italy for the Channel 4 programme in August 2020, when he noticed some warning signs.
He has now been told he has six months to live and many friends and fans of the show have rallied round to send messages of support.
Scots presenter Danni posted a sweet picture of her and Jonnie alongside their A Place In The Sun co-star Jean Johansson.
In the post she shared a snap of herself cuddling Jonnie while fellow Scot Jean Johansson covers her mouth as she laughs. She penned: "You ledge @jonnieirwintv so incredibly brave to share you’re diagnosis with the world. A true inspiration to us all to cherish all the moments we can with the people we love. Love and laughs always to you and you’re gorge fam xxx."
And many fans commented on her post. One wrote: "It seems so unfair! My love and thoughts are with you Jonnie."
Another added: "Stunned when reading this earlier. Such a genuine guy. Sending prayers and love."
Jonnie's other co-presenter Jasmine Harman wrote on Jonnie's Instagram: "Words can’t fix much, but what lovely words of support you have had here Jonnie. I know you know this already, but I am here for you my dear friend, and Jess and the boys. So, so brave. Sending lots of love. speak soon, Jx."
In his heartbreaking interview, Jonnie told HELLO!: "I don’t know how long I have left, but I try to stay positive and my attitude is that I'm living with cancer, not dying from it. I set little markers – things I want to be around for. I got into the habit of saying: 'Don't plan ahead because I might not be well enough.' But now I want to make plans.
"I want to make memories and capture these moments with my family because the reality is, my boys are going to grow up not knowing their dad and that breaks my heart."
