Danielle Hunter, Texans Agree to Two-Year Contract, per Report

The Houston Texans are fortifying their defensive line, reportedly agreeing to terms on a deal with star pass rusher Danielle Hunter

The contract will run for two years and will pay Hunter $49 million, including $48 million guaranteed. It carries a maximum value of $51 million, including incentives, according to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter.

Hunter, 29, has spent his entire NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings. In 2023, he featured in 17 games and registered a career-best 16.5 sacks, along with a league-high 23 tackles for loss.

He’ll join a Texans defensive line that already consists of reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year Will Anderson Jr., presenting a formidable tandem for opponents on the exterior.

Across eight NFL seasons, Hunter has 87.5 sacks and 462 tackles in 119 games, establishing himself as one of the most consistent dominant pass rushers in the business.

Houston made an unexpected run to the playoffs last year, and Hunter will offer the defense more star power to better contend for a Super Bowl in 2024.
