Brighton and Hove Albion Women's striker and former Arsenal icon Danielle Carter admitted it would be 'great' to see one of the English sides win the UEFA Women's Champions League this season.
Both London sides who have qualified for this season's UWCL have started of their respective group-stage campaigns in red-hot form. Chelsea have picked up six points from the first two games against PSG and most recently Vllaznia.
Meanwhile, Arsenal and Jonas Eidevall are expected to be on the same points total when they take on Zurich on Thursday evening in what will be their 100th game in a competition they won once all the way back in 2007.
With the pair looking good for group stage qualification from A and C respectively, just how far can they go? Carter doesn't believe you can make too many predictions so far but did admit and recognise the shortcomings of the WSL teams in this competition over the years.

“Ask me the same question when the group stages are over and when it gets serious. But yeh, obviously it will be great for an English team to win or go far as possible," she told football.london exclusively. “We always seem to fall short quite early on in this competition, so yes, it would be nice for an English team, preferably Arsenal to win but it’s early days in the competition and we will see how it goes.”
