Daniel Rigge reveals ‘clear’ Mark Noble message after signing for West Ham

Daniel Rigge has revealed Mark Noble “made clear” the “standards expected at West Ham United” following his move from Manchester City.

The highly-rated youngster trialled at a number of leading clubs while featuring for the Hammers’ youth teams earlier this season before his release from City and has now signed scholarship terms in east London.

An England U16 international, his arrival will not have any bearing on David Moyes’ first-team transfer plans this summer given there will be no transfer fee or compensation involved but the capture of the midfielder is an exciting prospect for the future.

Noble, who has now retired after an 18-year career with this boyhood club, had some words of advice for the teenager just as one West Ham journey begins while another one ends.

“I had the chance to meet Mark Noble as well, who was also very welcoming,” he told the club’s official website.

“He made clear to me the standards expected at West Ham United. It was such a big moment and I felt very proud to speak to him about joining this Club.”

Elsewhere, the club are still pushing to seal a deal for Rennes centre-back Nayef Aguerd as talks continue over a potential €15million (£13m) move.
