Daniel Ricciardo has said he is prepared to take advantage of what is expected to be a chaotic Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Formula 1 heads to the streets of Baku this weekend for what has become one of the most intriguing races on the calendar.
Since debuting in 2016, the Baku circuit has produced wild moments, thrilling finishes and some surprising podiums.
Ricciardo, who won the race in 2017, is hoping for more of the same after a difficult season so far.
"There's always an element of unpredictability at street circuits so I'm ready to take advantage of any opportunities that come my way," he said.
"There's a couple of different ways we can play it strategy-wise this weekend but track position for lights out on Sunday will be important."
Ricciardo struggled last time out with a 13th place finish at the Monaco Grand Prix.
He sits 11th in the drivers' championship with just 11 points, well off his teammate Lando Norris who is seventh with 48 points.
The Briton has driven well in the past two races after suffering from tonsillitis.
He said he feels back to full strength and is ready to try and move into the top six of the championship.
"I'm feeling back to usual myself after the weekend off and I've recovered well after a tough two weeks,' Norris said.
"I've finished in the points both times I've raced at this track so hopefully I can keep that up."
Max Verstappen has 'unfinished business' at Baku
Reigning world champion Max Verstappen was on course to win last year's Azerbaijan Grand Prix before his tyre spectacularly blew and sent him crashing.
The shot of Verstappen kicking his tyre in frustration was one of the more memorable images from last year's race, which was won by his teammate, Sergio Perez.
Verstappen says he is heading into the weekend determined to right the wrongs of 2021.
"We have some unfinished business there after last year,' he said.
"It's a tricky track with big braking zones and a tight runoff.
"Finding the best set-up for the car will be difficult in terms of making sure we get the correct wing level."
