Following an extremely frustrating 2022/23 season, it is all change at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the new Premier League campaign. Ange Postecoglou has replaced Antonio Conte as Spurs' new head coach and the club have moved early in the transfer market to tie up permanent deals for Dejan Kulusevski, Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison.
The hope is that Tottenham will kick on from August onwards and get themselves back into Champions League contention, with Postecoglou possibly the man who could bring Tottenham's trophy drought to a much-needed end. A crucial period for the Lilywhites as they look to get back to their previous heights, football.london surveyed more than 16,000 Tottenham fans in the Big Forum on a range of different topics, including Daniel Levy, Postecoglou's appointment, Harry Kane's future and the transfer market, to get their views on the club.
Tottenham fans have made their feelings perfectly clear about the direction the club are heading in and what needs to be done in the future. As part of the Big Forum, Tottenham supporters were asked to give their responses - in terms of a value out of 100 - to two key questions.
The first of those was in regards to how supporters rated Spurs' 2022/23 season overall. A season to forget as the club missed out on Europe altogether, a score of 20 was given by 1,626 of those taking part as 1,430 gave it a zero.
The second question then concerned the decisions taken by Levy and the board, with a score of zero signalling 'get out of our club' and 100 equalling 'club legends'. The most common answer was zero with 2,624 votes and a rating of 50 next in line following 2,118 votes.
Amid a few initial question marks from some supporters over the club opting for Postecoglou as Conte's successor, 87 per cent of the fans taking part in the survey stated they are happy with the Australian's appointment.

When asked if you are confident Levy and the board have made the right appointment, 52 per cent said they were somewhat confident in the choice, with six per cent saying they were not at all confident in the decision. Given the desperate need to win a trophy this season after last lifting silverware back in 2008, 40 per cent said Postecoglou's main objective is to win a domestic trophy, with 34 per cent saying top four and 26 per cent top six.
In terms of the fans' expectations, 42 per cent expect a top-six finish compared to 22 per cent for a top-four finish, while 23 per cent expect Tottenham to win either the FA Cup or Carabao Cup. Key to all that will be a successful summer in the transfer market, with Levy already bringing in three players ahead of the start of pre-season.
Certainly needing to overhaul the squad by bringing in new faces and moving a host of players on, 45 per cent believe that Tottenham need to spend £150million in the transfer market and 36 per cent of responders feel that Spurs may actually need to spend upwards of £200million in order to compete with teams above them again next season.
When asked about the area of the team that needs most investment, the answer from fans was unanimous as 80 per cent of those surveyed stated that defence is very much the priority. Ten per cent believe midfield is the priority, nine per cent feel that goalkeeper should be top of the list and only one per cent of those answering feel that attack is the area of most concern.
So how many players do Tottenham need to sign this summer to give Postecoglou the best squad possible for the 2023/24 campaign? It was incredibly tight but 44 per cent voted for five players plus as 42 per cent opted for four new signings.
The undoubted main talking point at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer in terms of outgoings is Kane's future. A total of 67 per cent believe he is irreplaceable and he should not be allowed to leave at all costs, whereas 33 per cent feel that he should be sold and the money reinvested in the squad.
Some of those who spent last season out on loan could quite easily come into Postecoglou's thinking as he plans for the new campaign. Destiny Udogie was the player 24 per cent of fans want to be seen given a chance next season, with Bryan Gil on 21 per cent, Tanguy Ndombele 18 per cent and Djed Spence 16 per cent.
