Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is expected to be dismissed from his post at PSG, according to Le Parisien. It comes just over one-year after he joined the club he once played for during his career.
In that time, the Argentinian coach won the Ligue 1 title, the French cup and the French Super cup. However, there has been a continual struggle in the Champions League, with the side knocked out by Real Madrid in the Round of 16 after a comfortable lead in the second leg.
While Pochettino has often succeeded at clubs where he could coach the side well, the French club are known for their superstars, adding to the challenge at hand. Discussing his troubles at the club after the league win, the manager said: “The objective is always in a club like Paris Saint-Germain to win the Champions League.

“The most important [thing] is to try to build something special. The important thing is to learn from the experience. This football club is building to win. It's difficult in a club like Paris Saint-Germain because the objectives are so big and when you win the league, sometimes it looks like it's not enough.”
The potential exit comes just over two-years since he left Tottenham, with chairman Daniel Levy deciding to axe him. Pochettino led Spurs to a Champions League final, but couldn’t quite turn that time at the club into a trophy win.
Since then, Levy has made several managerial decisions, eventually landing on Antonio Conte. The Italian is a serial winner and while Pochettino wasn’t backed in the season he was dismissed, Conte is set to receive £150million of investment from ENIC.
What happens next for both the club and the former manager remains to be seen, with plenty of options open to either in the future.
