Ryan Mason has insisted he is "ready" to become Tottenham's next permanent manager. The 31-year-old was named Spurs' acting head coach on Monday following Daniel Levy's decision to sack Cristian Stellini.
Stellini had only been in the job one month following Antonio Conte's dismissal but after the embarrassing 6-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday, Levy pulled the trigger in the hope of salvaging Spurs' Champions League qualification hopes. Mason has now been given the job on a temporary basis until the end of the season, with Matt Wells, Nigel Gibbs, Perry Suckling and Gianni Vio working alongside him.
A number of managers have been tipped to take the job on full-time, including Mauricio Pochettino, Julian Nagelsmann and Arne Slot. Mason, however, appears to fancy the role himself if given the opportunity.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Tottenham vs Manchester United, the Englishman said: "Honestly for me I feel ready. I know I am ready.
"If that situation happens, it means we've done a good job. That is fast forwarding six weeks time. My immediate focus is Thursday."
Of course, Levy's task of finding a new permanent manager has been made a little trickier by the fact London rivals Chelsea are also on the search for a new boss. Frank Lampard is currently taking charge of the Blues on an interim basis following the sacking of Graham Potter.
One name who appears to be in the frame to take over at Chelsea is Pochettino but Mason did not want to comment on the rumours in his press conference. "Focus is on inside here," he said when asked his thoughts about the possibility of Pochettino managing Chelsea.
"We won't listen to outside noise. We have to focus on our job and job is to get results on football pitch."
