Cartel boss Daniel Kinahan has posed for pictures with boxing executive Sam Jones as his uncharacteristic blitz on social media continues.
The Dublin-born gang chief has been seen posing alongside well-known boxing faces, including Tyson Fury, despite once shying away from the camera.
On Friday, boxing promoter Sam Jones, who has previously defended Kinahan’s involvement in the sport, described him as “brilliant” for boxing and full of advice.
Jones, who is not involved in crime and works for boxing company Probellum, can be seen with his arm around Kinahan who looks like he doesn’t have a care in the world.
In a tweet praising Dubai-based Kinahan, he said: “Always good seeing my friend Daniel, Great advice as always and brilliant for the sport.”
The Kinahan mob boss appears to be embracing his spiritual side as he’s seen wearing a white buddhist meditation bracelet.
Daniel Kinahan made national headlines earlier this week when he was pictured alongside two-time heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, who has no involvement in crime in Dubai.
The images of the cartel boss were not well-received by the Irish Government, which has spoken to UAE officials about exiled Kinahan.
Tanaiste Leo Varadkar told reporters on Wednesday: “I think I had the same reaction as any other citizen would have, obviously I’m not at all impressed to see that photograph.
“There has been contact between our authorities and the authorities in the UAE about that matter.
“I don’t have an update at the moment but I’ll be speaking to the Minister for Justice later on.”
Fury publicly thanked Kinahan in 2020 for his role in putting together a fight with Anthony Joshua - which subsequently didn’t take place.
Speaking in a clip posted online, Fury said: “I’m just after getting off the phone there with Daniel Kinahan.
“He’s just informed me that the biggest fight in British boxing history has just been agreed.
“Big shout out Dan, he got this done. Literally over the line. Two fight deal.”
