When NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah releases a mock draft, it’s something you need to pay attention to. He was the first to mock left tackle Mekhi Becton in the first round, sending him at four to the New York Giants in January of 2020. He ended up going 10 to the New York Jets.
In his first mock draft of 2023, Jeremiah sent the Minnesota Vikings cornerback Tyrique Stevenson. Here is what Jeremiah said about the Miami FL product.
“Stevenson has some flaws, but he’s big (6-0, 214), fast and tough. He would be a significant addition to a porous Vikings secondary.”
What is really fascinating is that Stevenson hasn’t been included in mock drafts up until this point. Grinding The Mocks is a site that aggregates all the data from mock drafts and their simulators to give a general sense of where players will go in the draft.
What does Stevenson offer? Exactly what Jeremiah said: toughness and size. Should he be in the conversation at 23? Maybe not, but it’s worth keeping tabs on moving forward.
