Daniel Craig’s James Bond successor has been already been cast says writer

  • Screenwriter Steven Knight has revealed that the next actor to play James Bond has been cast, hinting that knowing the performer's identity has helped streamline his writing process for the 26th 007 film.
  • Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, Knight explained that whilst knowing the actor makes writing easier, he remains focused on developing the character rather than writing solely for the actor.
  • The revelation follows claims by actor Gary Oldman that producers have selected Daniel Craig 's successor, with Oldman backing his Slow Horses co-star Jack Lowden alongside other rumoured contenders such as Jacob Elordi and Callum Turner.
  • The upcoming reboot will be directed by Denis Villeneuve and produced under Amazon, with filming expected to commence after Villeneuve finishes work on Dune: Part 3 .
  • Knight expressed a strong sense of responsibility to author Ian Fleming's source material, describing his involvement in the British franchise as doing his duty for king and country.
