Former NASCAR star Danica Patrick recently criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for choosing not to disclose her vote on a significant ballot measure in California. The measure in question, Proposition 36, aims to elevate shoplifting to a felony for repeat offenders, enhance penalties for certain drug charges, and grant judges the authority to mandate treatment for individuals with multiple drug charges.
However, some Democratic state leaders and social justice groups have expressed concerns that Proposition 36 could disproportionately impact impoverished individuals and those struggling with drug-related issues.
Despite the attention surrounding the ballot measure, Vice President Harris opted not to reveal her stance, stating, 'I am not going to talk about the vote on that. Because honestly it’s the Sunday before the election and I don’t intend to create an endorsement one way or another around it.'
Patrick, known for her support of former President Donald Trump, questioned Harris's decision, suggesting that it raises doubts about what else she may be concealing. Patrick emphasized the importance of transparency, likening the situation to a red flag in a relationship.
Having voted for the first time in this election, Patrick disclosed that she cast her vote for the former president. She acknowledged that her past focus on racing had limited her engagement with politics but noted that her perspective evolved as she began following the news more closely.
Additionally, Patrick shared her positive experience attending America Fest in Phoenix, where she expressed her love for the country. Her attendance at the event, characterized by patriotic displays, garnered media attention and reinforced her patriotic sentiments.
