A ‘dangerous’ Scots rapist who carried out a series of horrendous rapes and sexual assaults despite claiming to ‘respect women’ has been jailed for 12 years. Emmanuel Anoliefo was last month convicted of raping three different women as well as two sexual assaults, a stalking charge and three counts of threatening and abusive behaviour.
The 39-year-old appeared for sentencing at the High Court in Glasgow on Friday after targeting his victims in the Edinburgh area between November 2018 and August 2020. Detectives leading the investigation into the monster’s crimes have welcomed his jail term and praised the bravery of those who gave evidence against him.
Detective Sergeant Mark Seymour said: “Anoliefo preyed on women, some of whom he already knew. He deliberately decided to exploit others who he approached in the street and tried to befriend.
