Emmerdale's Charles Anderson will continue to despair over his daughter Naomi Walter's behaviour as she grows increasingly close with bad boy Alex Moore.
In Thursday's hour-long episode of Emmerdale, Naomi (Karene Peter) arranges a drink with Alex (Liam Boyle) and it's not long before a shocked Dawn Taylor ( Olivia Bromley ) spots the pair flirting.
In upcoming scenes, Alex cements his return to the village while Charles (Kevin Mathurin) tries everything in his power to stop his daughter's budding romance.
Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) warns Charles he has to try a different tactic if he wants his daughter to stop seeing Alex as his current behaviour will continue to drive Naomi into the criminal's arms.
When Naomi offers to cook a family lunch, Charles suspects his daughter is up to something but decides to give her the benefit of the doubt.
Both Alex and Charles realise the lunch is an ambush but the vicar doesn't waste any time in exploiting the situation and grills the returning character about his intentions with his daughter.
Manpreet reminds her partner that his hostile attitude is only driving Alex and Naomi closer together but the vicar is pushed to his limits when his daughter plants a kiss on her new beau, goading her dad for a reaction.
Charles resists but his concerns for his daughter continue and the next day Manpreet suggests he speaks to the person who knows Alex best - Dawn.
Will Dawn put Charles' mind at rest or will he become more determined than ever to break up the new couple?
Emmerdale fans will remember Alex terrorised Dawn when he suddenly turned up out of the blue demanding access to their son Lucas.
The troublesome character attempted to abduct his son but later returned to the village and begged Dawn for a chance to get to know the boy.
Once ex the dangerous character is on the scene but will Naomi be able to trust him or should she listen to her father's persistent warnings?
