Dancing With The Stars host Doireann Garrihy admitted she thought she would “jinx” the opportunity hosting the show if she talked about it on her social media.
The 2FM Breakfast host smashed her hosting debut on the RTE One show this season and since the show ended, Doireann has had time to reflect on the series while on holidays with her boyfriend Mark Mehigan.
Sharing a behind the scenes pic on the show, Doireann said she feared she would do a sh*te job on the show if she got too comfortable.

She said: “Now that I’m on hols and slowing down, the nostalgia is kicking in. From getting the job back in September up to last Sunday… everything has revolved around DWTS.
“I know I haven’t been that active on Instagram in terms of talking to the camera, I’ve weirdly felt like sharing too much or being too comfortable about it all would jinx me and I would do a shite job on the show.”
She revealed she went “mad” going to the gym everyday preparing for her screentest and letting exercise help her nerves.
Doireann also revealed she avoided seeing any negative comments about her on the show by steering clear of Twitter.
“I also haven’t been on Twitter since before the show started… best decision ever,” she continued, before thanking her followers for all the support they showed her.
“But Instagram comments and DMs have been NOTHING but positive. So grateful, thank you so much.”
Doireann is currently soaking up the sunshine on holidays with her comedian boyfriend Mark.
But the romantic getaway turned into a disaster after Mark was bedridden with heat stroke for three days.
“Are you on the way out?” Doireann questioned her new beau as he lay in bed, with Mark dramatically responding; “Delirious…it’s like I have scurvy, how I imagine scurvy would be. Head pounding, legs, arms, everything. The only thing that’s intact is my heart..it’s probably gonna go as well realistically.”
