The semi-final of this year’s series of ITV’s Dancing On Ice kicked off in dramatic fashion, as one contestant plummeted to the ice during a solo skate. Following the skate, where contestants danced a James Bond number to ‘Live and Let Die’, Welsh drag queen The Vivienne slipped and fell.
The former Ru Paul’s Drag Race winner, 30, quickly got to her feet and continued with the skate. Her fall caused her to be voted in fifth place by judges Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill, Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse.
When asked by hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby how she felt following the fall, The Vivienne replied: “We’re dancing on ice, things happen!” Viewers rushed to social media to support the star.

“AS IF YHE VIVIENNE FELL PLS,” wrote one person and a second then echoed: “Hope The Vivienne’s ok,” after the incident. A third said: “oh no the Vivienne fell over…,” followed by two crying face emojis. The feelings of heartbreak were shared by another person, who added: “The Vivienne may have fallen but she's still one of the best skaters among the remaining celebrities. Let's not forget that.”
Following the announcement that she'd be taking part in Dancing On Ice, The Vivienne said: "To be the first drag artist to take part in one of the big UK reality competition shows is truly an honour. I think it's a big step forward for queer representation on TV."
