Dancing on Ice viewers were left scratching thier heads after realising that Kimberly Wyatt is pals with Ryan Thomas.
Fans may not know that the Pussycat Dolls singer actually has a connection with the former Coronation Street actor.
The 37-year-old star was sat in the audience with his mum during last Sunday’s show, with many viewers thinking he was there to support fellow Corrie star Sally Dynevor.
They became close friends while working together on the soap, with Ryan appearing as Jason Grimshaw for 16 years and Sally playing the iconic Sally Metcalfe since 1986.
But viewers were left baffled when Ryan posted an Instagram story saying he was “supporting my girls”.
He uploaded a sweet snap of him and his mum sat in the crowd and tagged both Kimberly and Sally in the post, The Mirror reports.
Dancing on Ice viewers were then even more surprised when Ryan told presenter Holly Willoughby that he was there to support his former Corrie co-star and the American singer.
One fan asked: "Are we all wondering how Ryan Thomas knows Kimberly Wyatt?"
Replying to the tweet, a viewer responded: "Yep. Came to Twitter hoping to find the answer."
But one super sleuth online managed to connect the dots to work out how Ryan and Kimberly know each other.
Replying to the original question, the person tweeted: "Good friends with her husband, apparently."
They were correct as Kimberly's husband is British model Max Rogers who has worked with some huge luxury brands including Diesel, Dolce & Gabbana and Tommy Hilfiger, and is an old friend of Ryan’s.
This time it was Ryan backing Kimberly, but the singer has previously taken to her Instagram to show her support for Ryan.
In May 20121, Kimberly came out to cheer on Ryan when he walked 10 marathons in 10 days, which was a whopping total of 262 miles, to raise money for the mental health and suicide prevention charity CALM.
Ryan walked from Buckingham Palace back to Manchester on foot and had the support of Kimberly and her daughters from the sidelines.
Posting a sweet snap of her daughters holding banners, Kimberly paid tribute to her “very good friend” and said they stood in solidarity as a family to show their support.
"What an incredible conversation to have with our girls about why he is doing it and what mental health is all about,” she wrote.
"How cool to get to see him in action and show what charitable efforts can do for others whether it’s raising money, awareness or bringing people together to make a difference.
Kimberly’s daughters had both drawn sweet signs to raise up to show Ryan they were supporting him all the way.
She continued: “Willow’s sign says: 'Ryan I see you are in pain there is only 7 more days to go Ryan. Wow you are so amazing! Love Willow."
Ultimately I realized today that when you are surrounded by friends and laughter all your worries seem to disappear even if only for the moment. When you know you’re not alone and you are loved and supported - you find comfort.
"As Ryan and I chatted during his epic journey today we chatted about the fact you never know what someone is going through..... just Be Kind!!!!"
Ryan will be hoping that both Kimberly and Sally manage to make it through to the Dancing on Ice final.
