Dancing on Ice's Vanessa Bauer hints at off-camera arguments with Brendan Cole

Vanessa Bauer has hinted at off camera arguments between her and celebrity partner Brendan Cole as she reflected on her time on the show this year.

Vanessa, who won the show in 2018 alongside Jake Quickenden, reached the final once again on Sunday night with her and former Strictly dancer Brendan, finishing as runners up to Regan Gascoigne and Karina Manta. Kimberly Wyatt finished in third and Dancing on Ice voting figures show it was pretty close between her and Brendan.

There were plenty of viewers who felt that, while it was Regan and Karina who won, Vanessa and Brendan were actually the stronger couple. But Vanessa showed no signs of bitterness as she posted about her and Brendan's Dancing on Ice journey, although she did mention there had been some ‘arguments/discussions' between them behind the scenes.

Posting on Instagram, Vanessa wrote: "Brendan I can’t tell you enough how proud I am of you, for pushing yourself every day and living up to my and your own high standards! Who would’ve thought our partnership that seemed random to me at first would’ve been so perfect.

"I’ve loved working with you every day… even our healthy creative ‘arguments/discussions’. Thank you for being a friend, for letting me teach, choreograph and guide you along the way, I’ve learned so much from you too."

Moving onto praise her and Brendan's fellow Dancing on Ice finalists, Vanessa added: "Congratulations to the talented @regangascoigne and @karinamanta for lifting the trophy, you are some of the loveliest people I know. To @kimberlywyatt and @markhanretty for producing another sensational bolero that you can see on the @dancingonice page and to the whole production and cast for creating the best series yet."

Paying tribute to Vanessa in his own Instagram post before Sunday's final, Brendan wrote: "I am going to miss hanging out with you, learning from you and no doubt annoying you daily. I intend to have a ball tomorrow and with you by my side! Win or lose it does not matter, I’ve had the time of my life and tomorrow I am proud to dance with you for the last time in this chapter!"

Rounding off the post with a message for Vanessa, Brendan wrote: "Thank you, you are a very special young lady and deserve everything that comes to you! You are my @dancingonice champion!"
