Dancing On Ice contestant and The Wanted's Siva Kaneswaran broke down on Loose Women as he discussed Tom Parker nearly one year after his late bandmate's untimely death. The singer, who is competing in the semi-finals of the skating show, appeared on the ITV daytime show to discuss the tribute he will be paying to his friend with his performance on the weekend.
Tom died aged 33 from brain cancer on March 30 last year. Asking Siva about his Dancing On Ice routine, which will see him skate to Gold Forever by The Wanted, presenter Jane Moore said: "This coming performance is going to be a tribute, isn't it? Tell us about that."
"I wanted to do it on Dancing On Ice, I didn't know if I was going to do it, but this weekend is going to be a tribute to Tom, we're going to do Gold Forever," Siva replied. The singer then paused as he held back tears and said: "I'm getting emotional now."

"Of course you are," Jane said softly as the panel consoled him, continuing Siva explained: "This weekend I'm going to do Gold Forever for Tom, Gold Forever but it's Tom's version," pausing again Siva said: "Sorry, I can't think straight, I'm thinking about him again."
Finishing his sentence, Siva added: "We're going to do a nice tribute to him, a nice dance. I've been very tender this week and very emotional but obviously, we're going to be celebrating him and honouring his memory."
Siva then explained that Wednesday, March 1 was the first day of brain cancer awareness month, so the tribute felt very fitting. Jane then asked: "When you lose somebody that close and that young in age it does give you a different perspective on life, what has it done for you in that respect?"
"It has done everything," Siva replied before sharing some memories of his late friend. "Tom was a man of action and he always gave you a reality check and this was a big reality check," he said.
Siva also recalled how he has seen "so many signs" from his bandmate. He told the panel: "I see so many signs, I mean last night I went to a Jessie J concert."
Fighting back the tears again and taking a deep breath, he continued: "And I went to see Jessie J and she had a surprise guest. And it was Claude Kelly who is this amazing singer-songwriter but he was the writer of Gold Forever."
On what Tom would think of him taking part in Dancing On Ice, Siva said: "He always loved to see me win. So I’m sure he’s watching now, thinking what an idiot but amazing!" For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
