Dancing On Ice's Sally Dynevor says injuries will be written into Corrie storyline

Dancing On Ice star Sally Dynevor says if she falls on the ice and breaks a limb, her Coronation Street character will also have to take a tumble.

The 58-year-old soap star, who plays Sally Webster on the cobbles, has revealed that ITV scriptwriters are ready to pen the perfect storyline for the actress should she take a fall during her Dancing On Ice stint.

Sally, who has appeared on Coronation Street since 1986, hopes nothing bad will happen to her on the ice, but knows that if it does, her Corrie crew have her back.

"I have my fingers crossed that nothing bad is going to happen," she revealed.

"But if it does, I'm sure there will be a story thrown in there about Sally and how she fell over on the cobbles and hurt herself."

On Sunday night, Sally and her professional partner Matt Evers, 45, made their debut on the ice.

Before, Sally had opened up about her skating fears, admitting that she couldn't sleep properly for weeks.

The Coronation Street star lifted the lid on her nerves, after never having skated before and described it as a 'massive challenge'.

During an appearance on This Morning last week, she confessed: “My real problem is the confidence thing."

Sally went on to say she has been struggling to let go of her skate partner Matt Evers’s hand, saying 'it’s just too terrifying'.

She continued: “I am struggling with my confidence. I'm just hoping that as this journey goes along, if I get the opportunity, I'll find a little bit more confidence every week.

“I just need to get through Sunday night.”

Sally also admitted that she had been struggling to sleep ahead of her debut.

She said: “I can't get to sleep because I'm going through all the moves and 'am I doing it okay?'

"Hopefully my confidence will build a little bit. Being on a live show as well - that's just terrifying."

Sally admitted she is keen for people to know her as a person, rather than a character on the cobbles.

She said: “I really do want people to get to know me because they've only known my character for so long. But again, it's putting myself out there that's quite out there, because I've never really done this before.

“I've hidden behind my character. So to come out after all these years, it's quite daunting. But I'm hoping I'll be ok and it'll go well and that I'll really enjoy the experience and then go back to being Sally Metcalfe in a few weeks.”
