Dancing on Ice's Nile Wilson hit by 'overmarked' accusations from skating expert ahead of final

Nile Wilson has been hit by accusations that he's been 'overmarked' by the judges on Dancing on Ice, after making this year's final.

Olympic gymnast Nile has been a frontrunner in the eyes of the bookies from day one. Almost as soon as he was confirmed on the line-up for the new series of the ITV show, Nile was tipped to do very well in the competition, alongside professional partner Olivia Smart.

The couple have lived up to expectations by being consistent high scorers and their fine form continued on Sunday night, topping the Dancing on Ice leaderboard once again, with a perfect score of 45 out of a possible 45.

The semi started with a group number which saw all of the celebs perform a solo skate, as their partners looked on from the side of the rink.

While The Vivienne suffered a nasty fall, the performance couldn't have gone better for Nile and received the top mark of five points from the judges. He and Olivia then followed that up in tremendous style by getting a full house of 10s for their 'personal' skate.

Nile and Olivia sailed through to the final, without having to battle it out in the skate-off but, speaking to Heart Bingo, ice-skating coach, former two-time Scottish Champion and British Primary champion Daniel King argues that Nile was 'over marked' by the judges.

He conceded that Nile deserved to top the standings for the solo skate, but added: " Once again, I suspect that Nile’s performance has been over marked. It was great performance, but honestly all three finalists, Nile, The Vivienne and Joey, gave stellar performances. They were all equally as good as each other tonight. All three of them deserved 10s across the board, not just reserved for Nile."

Despite those accusations, bookies BetVictor still have Nile as favourite to win this Sunday's final on odds of 1/4, ahead of The Vivienne on 5/1 and Joey Essex third favourite on 7/1, after he survived the skate-off.
