Joey Essex's ex-girlfriend Lorena Medina has claimed the pair have been exchanging 'romantic' messages amid Vanessa Bauer romance rumours.
Lorena, 30, who first met Joey, 32, on Ex On The Beach, revealed the former couple are still very much in touch and claimed Joey confessed to her that he's 'always' thinking about her.
The brunette beauty's confession comes after Joey's professional dance partner on Dancing On Ice, Vanessa, 26, shut down any rumours of a romance between herself and the former TOWIE star.
Lorena, who dated Joey for several months back in 20202, has claimed that the former TOWIE star told her that he hasn't had a 'connection' with anyone else since their romance - however, their living situations has held the pair off from rekindling their romance.
"We have been speaking a bit romantically, Joey told me he always thinks about me," Lorena confessed.
"He said that he hasn't been able to find that connection with anyone since me and I said, "Me too. I haven't found it yet either", and Joey said, "Well, if you come to London I'll come to see you".
"We both know the attraction is there - the constant love is still there - but I am in different countries working on my singing career and he is in England," she told The Sun.
Lorena said they hadn't spoken since their split, that was until she called him on a boozy night out seven months ago, and since then, the pair have constantly been in touch with one another.
Back in 2020, Lorena called it quits with Joey after he enjoyed a 24-hour party with Rita Ora and his friendship group.
Lorena's confession comes as rumours had been rife about a romantic connection between Joey and his Dancing On Ice partner Vanessa, with Joey even admitting that they are 'taking it slow' earlier this week.
However, Vanessa quickly put the rumours to bed as she said that they have been having 'a lot of fun' - but there's nothing more to it.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain earlier this week, Joey confessed: "I'm single, Vanessa's single. We go to the ice every day, it's cold, do you know what I mean?
"We've got to keep each other warm! But yeah, it's all good."
