Dancing On Ice line-up: Corrie's Mollie Gallagher is fifth contestant confirmed for 2023 series

Coronation Street star Mollie Gallagher has become the fifth star confirmed for Dancing On Ice.

The 2023 series is expected to kick off early next year, with four names already being announced for the upcoming series. They will be swapping their day job for the ice in a bid to take home the winners' trophy like the likes of Joe Swash, James Jordan, Ray Quinn, who have all triumphed in recent series. Regan Gascoigne won the latest series earlier this year.

The latest announcement was made on ITV 's Lorraine today as host Lorraine Kelly was joined in the studio by the actress, who plays Nina on the ITV soap. She admitted she was excited for the show - but the nerves were now setting in.

Speaking on Lorraine today, Mollie shared: "I'm really excited. I've not really felt nervous yet, but being here today, now I'm feeling it. Back in the day, I've skated at Christmas markets but before the try out for Dancing on Ice, I went on the ice."

"I'll be getting all the tips I can," Mollie revealed as she confirmed she'd be chatting with her fellow Corrie stars who have taken to the ice. Jane Danson and Sally Dynevor are just two of a number of Corrie stars who have giving the show a go.

Ahead of today's announcement, Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson was thrilled be confirmed for the show.

"I'm going to be on ITV's Dancing on Ice! This is a really cool thing. I've certainly not done much ice-skating but I am so excited for the opportunity. I’m so excited to get into that routine and to feel like an athlete again," he said, announcing the news on his YouTube channel, as he added: "My biggest goal on the show is to do something that no-one has ever done before!"

Love Island fans were also left stunned when Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu was confirmed to be one of the stars from this series.

"I’ve got some amazing news to tell you, I’m going to be doing this year’s Dancing on Ice! I’m so excited, I can’t wait to get myself on the ice and skate. Stay tuned and see you on the ice!" she shared on Good Morning Britain as she announced her latest venture.

Patsy Palmer was the first star confirmed to be taking to the ice, with the DJ and actress excited to "challenge" herself and get out of her comfort zone. She explained how turning 50 inspired her to sign up.

She said on ITV's This Morning : "I wanted to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone. I thought ‘I’ll just go for it’ and it seems like a lot of fun," before adding: "My pact that I made with myself when I was 50 was I have to do things to challenge myself for the next couple of years. This is for all the 50 year-olds out there that think they can’t challenge themselves!"

Football star John Fashanu admits he is "competitive" but is so excited to get his skates on.

"I'm so excited to be a part of Dancing on Ice! I don't think it'll come as a surprise to people that I'm very competitive - I am definitely in it to win it. And this may be one of the scariest things I've ever signed up for but I couldn't be more ready for the challenge!" he said.
