Dancing on Ice’s Liberty Poole made her ice rink debut on Sunday with a performance to Little Mix’s pop anthem ‘Shout Out to My Ex’ - which got viewers talking.
The 22-year-old rose to fame on Love Island last year and sensationally quit the series after splitting with her boyfriend Jake Cornish just before the final.
As Liberty took her first turn on the ice alongside professional partner Joe Johnson, Dancing on Ice viewers took to Twitter to comment on the pointed song choice, saying it was a reference to Liberty’s Love Island ex-boyfriend Jake.
One wrote: “This a song dedicated to Jake #DOI #DancingOnIce,” alongside a string of laughing crying emojis.
Another said: “The song Liberty danced to was clearly aimed at Jake #DancingOnIce”
A third wrote: “Liberty really skating to “shout out to my ex”,” with three laughing crying emojis.
A fourth tweeted: “Liberty Poole dancing to Shout Out to My Ex has me creasing #dancingonice”
Liberty was cheered on by fellow Love Island stars Faye Winter and Kaz Kamwi, who clapped alongside the masked audience.
Ahead of her first skate, Liberty has said she's keen for people to see a different side to her.
"I think on this you will get to see more of my fun side," she told The Mirror. "I am a fun person and in Love Island you saw me in a partnership and what I was like in a relationship.
"This time you will see me as an individual having fun and learning a new skill so people will see a different side to me."
The former waitress and marketing student joined the Love Island line-up and quickly became a firm favourite among viewers.
The 22 year-old, who hails from Birmingham, instantly coupled up with Jake Cornish but the relationship wasn't meant to be.
After failing to find love Liberty quit villa life in an unexpected move just before the final.
Since leaving Love Island, Liberty has become the ambassador of fashion brands In The Style and Boux Avenue and has teamed up with self-tanning brand Skinnytan and Lola's Lashes.
Liberty and Jake were favourites to win the 2021 series after coupling up from the start.
However, things fell apart after the islanders were made to watch clips of each other, with Liberty reassessing her feelings for Jake and eventually calling time on their relationship.
Despite going their separate ways the pair decided to leave the villa together just three days before the final, which saw Millie Court and Merthyr-born Liam Reardon crowned winners.
In emotional exit scenes, Liberty told her close friend Kaz Kamwi: "You know, I might not have found love, or the love that I thought I had at first, but I found self-love.
"And you can't let someone love you or fall in love with someone until you love yourself inside and out. I feel like Love Island has been that for me."
