Dancing On Ice fans slam 'depressing' show as they call for Stephen Mulhern to come back as co-host

Dancing On Ice fans complained they were missing Stephen Mulhern as Phillip Schofield returned to the rink.

Phillip was back alongside co-host Holly Willoughby after missing last weekend's episode.

There was a reshuffle on the popular ITV skating contest after Phillip, 59, tested positive for coronavirus.

But many viewers were calling for Catchphrase and In For A Penny host Stephen to be brought back in a permanent role after he stood in for Phil, with some saying the show felt 'downbeat.'

@corby_tun tweeted: "#DancingOnIce it feels very downbeat show tonight."

@StephsMoans said: "Miss Stephen Mulhern already TBH."

@GillQuarter told the show: "@dancingonice I miss Stephen Mulhern."

@TVprattle complained: "Downbeat compared to last week. ITV should've kept Stephen Mulhern if they don't want people fast forwarding."

@claireh5611 said: "Nah, I'm off to watch Midsomer Murders. No Philip Schofield thanks, rather have Stephen Mulhern!"

@xxncisaddictxx wrote: "No offence to Phil but I think Stephen Mulhern is a better fit for #DancingOnIce his presenting was part of my childhood with CITV and Ministry of Mayhem."

@Lola52007870 asked: "Tonight feels really depressing for some reason where’s Stephen gone?"

@I_am_KenBarlow asked: "Couldn't we keep Stephen Mulhern?"

And @early_wasp demanded: "Come back Stephen and rescue this show."

Holly and Stephen hosted Holly and Stephen's Saturday Showdown, previously Ministry of Mayhem, on ITV together from 2004 to 2006.

And the pair laughed as they reminded viewers that it was 16 years since 'we did kids' telly.'

Viewers flocked to Twitter to say how good it was to see them reunited and to say they were loving the partnership.
