Dancing on Ice fans convinced of cold relationship between Phillip Schofield and Sally Dynevor after jibe

Phillip Schofield was as cold as ice to Coronation's Street's Sally Dynevor last night and fans were quick to notice.

The actress found herself facing the axe on Dancing on Ice after she failed to complete a solo lift in her routine like she'd been challenged.

The star, who has played Sally Webster on the ITV soap since 1986, had been tasked with the tricky move by judges.

The 58-year-old was supposed to have a lift without an assist as part of her latest routine, but didn't quite manage it, as reports the Mirror.

Performing to The Sound of Music with partner Matt Evers, the pair were awarded just 31.5 points by the celebrity panel.

And after they gave their thoughts, show presenter Phillip shared his too, in an unusual move for the Dancing on Ice host.

Picking up on the missing solo lift, he joked: "But assisted jumps, you didn't want to let go?"

The soap icon seemed quite taken aback by the comment, replying: "No, I know I didn't," before Matt quickly intervened, shouting that the actress was a "national treasure".

The awkward frosty moment didn't go unnoticed by fans.

One tweeted: "Ooh Phil doesn't like Sally?"

Another said: "Looks like even Phil is sick of Sally.

While a third quipped: "Hahaha I love how Phil says it how it is."

Strictly Come Dancing's Arlene Philips awarded the actress an unimpressive 5/10, her lowest score, and said she the actress clearly "'desperately wanted to impress".

Sally and Happy Monday's star Bez, who was eliminated from the series last night, have both faced criticism from viewers for not taking more risks during their routines.

Earlier in rehearsals, Matt posted a picture of the mum-of-three lying face down on the ice after a nasty fall.

Sally shared the photo and wrote: "Please God this doesn't happen on Saturday."

The soap stalwart looked to be in pain after taking a tumble, which many viewers thought was in preparation for the infamous headbanger.

In a short clip shared by Matt of their practise, the pro skater dragged a navy blue crash mat onto the ice as Sally skates behind him.

Matt said: "Day 1.. musicals Week. Straight from bed to the ice… crash mat? Hmmm wonder what we are doing?"

Fans replied to the post musing whether the notorious move in which the contestant gets swung around in circles by their ankles - as their head is dangerously close to the ice - was on the cards.

However, after last night's performance, it looks like the couple may not want to be too overly ambitious.

Dancing on Ice continues this Sunday at 6pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
