Dancing On Ice fans complain 'sort it out' as they point out the same issue with the final and the 'true winner'

The 2023 series of Dancing On Ice drew to a close on Sunday night as the final three celebrities got their skates on for the last time. Reality star Joey Essex skated with his pro partner Vanessa Bauer, former Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson performed with Olivia Smart and RuPaul's Drag Race star The Vivienne took to the ice again with Colin Grafton.

Sadly one pair has to be eliminated first, leaving Nile and Joey to skate Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean's iconic gold-medal winning Olympic Bolero routine as they said a sad goodbye to The Vivienne. "I've got fit and I've met the mosty amazing friend in Colin," she said cheerily.

The Vivienne added that she was also pleased to have been able to pay further tribute to judge and skating legend Jayne by copying her short blonde hair from the 1984 Winter Olympics. @suckapvnch tweeted: "'I'm just happy i got to wear my Jayne Torvill wig' CREASING I LOVE THE VIVIENNE." and @BListAtCapital said: "The Vivienne’s Bolero wig is the true winner."

But fans of the longrunning ITV celeb skating contest took to Twitter with the same complaint. They grumbled that all three finalists should have the opportunity to skate the Bolero, especially when they're all wearing purple outfits resembling those made famous by Torville and Dean.

@ItsDeeJackson sympathised: "Awwwww @THEVIVIENNEUK @ColinGrafton Devastated for you both that you didn’t get to skate #Bolero." And @mlawelshgirl wrote: "I feel for the person who don’t get to skate bolero but dressed ready only to be out It’s a bit unfair to be honest."

@2001joe_mendy wrote: "The finalists are now changing into those Bolero outfits just in case they end up skating the bolero. Unfortunately for one of the finalists, changing into the Bolero outfit will end up being a waste of time as only 2 can make the super-final."

@Sundays_child__also complained: "I always thinks it's harsh that they make all three dress in their bolero outfits but only two get to skate it. They're all finalists and all have worked extremely hard on their routines. Come on @dancingonice sort it out." And @DebbieBlackma14 also thought: "I still think all three should do the Bolero."

A tearful Nile went on to be crowned the winner. The duo lifted the trophy after winning over the public after over a million people voted, host Phillip Schofield told them.
