Dan Walker, known for presenting BBC Breakfast, left the breakfast show after six years on Tuesday, May, 17 and many viewers are waiting to see who his replacement will be. Dan has now posted a cryptic Tweet, possibly hinting at who his replacement is.
The 45-year-old presenter re-tweeted a photo of Sally Nugent and Jon Kay, who appears to be covering Dan's role while the BBC wait to announce their official replacement, on the iconic red sofa. The original Tweet was from Sally who was saying "Morning everyone" and Dan captioned his Tweet: "The future right there" followed by a trophy and cross fingers emoji.
The Tweet seems to clearly suggest that Dan would like Jon to be his replacement and it might be Dan confirming something that viewers don't yet know. Jon is rumoured to be in the running for the job and he is currently a regular presenter on the show.

Two Welsh presenters are also rumoured to be in with a chance of the job, Gethin Jones and Owain Wyn-Evans. Gethin currently presents Morning Live on BBC and Owain has recently battled his fears on the BBC show Freeze the Fear.
Other presenters in the running to grab the gig are AJ Odudu after her success on Strictly Come Dancing and weather woman Carol Kirkwood. Dan's announcement that he is leaving the morning show came just months after his former colleague Louise Minchin left the show and was replaced by Sally Nugent.
In April 2022 Dan announced he would be leaving the show and moving to Channel 5 on his social media. He said: "Hello, Dan Walker here. I have a little bit of news for you. In the next few weeks I'm going to be leaving BBC Breakfast and moving to 5 News and to Channel 5."
"I'm really excited but this has also been a massive decision for me because I love BBC Breakfast. I love working alongside Sally and I love the team there. Channel 5 came with big ambitions, with big plans, and I don't think opportunities like this come around very often and I can't wait. I've also had the incredible privilege of working on some iconic programmes over the last few years, both at the BBC and elsewhere, and what I love about this deal is I not only get to present the news but also host a whole range of programmes right across the channel."
