Dan Walker is just one of the many who has taken to social media to praise BBC presenter Huw Edwards for his "exceptional" coverage of the Queen's state funeral. The Welsh television host returned to screens on Monday, September 19 to anchor the historical and emotional occasion.
The Queen's funeral service took place at 11am at Westminster Abbey and saw millions of people around the world tune in. News of Her Majesty's death, which was announced on Thursday, September 8, was delivered by broadcaster Huw Edwards live on BBC One.
Huw's delivery drew praise from viewers at the time, with some even calling for him to be knighted for his role in the coverage. And now, following the funeral, viewers have once again taken to social media to applaud his "calm, reassuring, understated commentary".

Including former BBC Breakfast host and Channel 5 News anchor Dan Walker. The presenter called Huw's coverage "exceptional" in a powerful message to his former BBC colleague.
He said: "When every word matters… When every mistake is magnified and scrutinised… When permanently finding the right tone is almost impossible to navigate… This fella has played a blinder. Well played Huw Edwards. Exceptional stuff @thehuwedwards."
At the time of writing, Dan's message had been liked over 14,000 times as many shared their own praise. Dan also shared a touching message about grief with his followers.
Taking to Twitter, the former-Strictly Come Dancing star referenced a cartoon picture The Times had published showing an elderly gentleman in his living room alone: "What a powerful cartoon from @thetimes. I spoke to a woman on my way into work today still grieving the loss of someone in her own family. Today has brought it all back.
"Funerals are hard. We can all look out for the lonely #funeral #queensfuneral."
