Very few details have been given on what the programme will be about but Dan has given some clues on his Instagram. He said: "We have a team of detectorists and experts ready to peel back the layers of history...It's like Top Gear with spades".

One commented: "Exciting, can't wait" and another said: "Oooh exciting!!! We will be tuning in xxx" Another added: "Really look forward to watching this" and: "We'll be watching! Looking forward to seeing your new programmes! x"

During his career Dan has also taken part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2021. He said he joined the show to do something “fun” and have a “giggle” after reporting on difficult news stories during the pandemic.

Dan announced the news he was leaving the BBC in April 2022. He said: "I'm really excited but this has also been a massive decision for me because I love BBC Breakfast. I love working alongside Sally and I love the team there. But Channel 5 came with big ambitions, with big plans and I don't think opportunities like this come around very often and I can't wait."
