Dan Walker has co-stars blushing with hilarious error over new Channel 5 show and 'offers resignation'

Former BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker had his co-stars blushing as he celebrated the launch of his new show. The Strictly Come Dancing 2021 contestant made a comical slip-up as he took to Twitter to thank viewers for tuning in to Digging For Treashire, which sees Dan, Countryfile reporter Michaela Strachan and presenter and archaeologist Raksha Dave search for artefacts and items lost by people through the centuries.

Dan, who now presents 5 News on Channel 5 after announcing that he was leaving the BBC in April, previously described the show as 'like Top Gear with spades.' He raised laughs as he tweeted with a typo error on Saturday: "Fantastic response to Dogging For Treasure last night and great figures!"

Sharing a snap of himself and his co-stars replenishing with a snack in between filming, he added: "Thanks for watching and for the feedback. We are filming again today - with a little less clapping - and celebrating with a snack of choice.

He added: "See you next Friday at 9." He quickly corrected his blunder with hiding-face emojis: "DIGGING DIGGING DIGGING." And as Michaela exclaimed "spellcheck @mrdanwalker DIGGING!!" he joked with another embarrassed emoji and a laughing face: "Full apology has been accepted and I have offered my resignation."

And archaeologist and TV presenter Raksha said with a flushed-face emoji: "No babes that’s another show." Dan replied with the same emoji and a crying-laughing face as he saw the funny side.

@janemcintyre12 gasped: "Pardon?!!" @LeceWoody told him: "I love a good typo!" @AfRetro wrote: "This is the funniest thing I have seen today." And @23duff asked: "Doing what now!?!?"
