A host of celebs were quick to comment on BBC presenter Deborah James' heartbreaking final social media post after she devastatingly admitted she doesn't know how long she has left to live.
The popular presenter has been battling bowel cancer since December 2016 and revealed to her followers she has stopped active treatment for the stage four disease and is now receiving hospice care at home.
The mum-of-two posted the tragic message to both Twitter and Instagram on Monday night and said despite trying everything, her "body simply isn't playing ball".
She went on to say that while she doesn't know how long she has got left, she isn't able to walk and is sleeping most of the time.
She added: "I know we have left no stone unturned. But even with all the innovative cancer drugs in the world or some magic new breakthrough, my body just can't continue anymore."
Among those sending messages of support was fellow presenter Dan Walker who took to her Twitter post to comment: "Heartbreaking news Deborah. Thinking of you and your family. Thank you for opening up so many important conversations over the last few years."
Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling also tweeted a response, calling it the "saddest tweet I've ever read". He added: "What an amazing woman."
Gabby Logan used the platform to comment: "Deborah you have changed lives and opened up conversations that will help so many people. What a legacy."
Over on her Instagram post, more fans and celebs sent Deborah messages. Among those to reply was Good Morning Britain doctor Amir Khan.
He said: " There are no words, we love you very much," while fellow BBC radio presenter Chris Stark penned: " Deborah you are, as many are saying just incredible.
"Very few people get to see how many people they have inspired and you can always know that you have done so much, for so many, many more than you will ever realise. You and your family must be so proud. Well done mate xx"
As the messages kept pouring in, stars such as Gaby Roslin, Rosie Ramsey, Kate Ferdinand and Andrea McLean also left heartfelt comments to the star.
Deborah, who is a former deputy head teacher lives with her husband Sebastian in London and their kids Hugo, 14, and Eloise, 12.
She previously revealed how she almost died in January and was forced to undergo five operations in the space of 10 days due to a medical emergency. She returned home three weeks later.
A septic infection in mid-March saw her return to hospital, though, and while BBC Radio 5 Live host was discharged exactly a month later, she described her situation as 'very tough'.
On an appearance on ITV 's Lorraine in April she told viewers she had spent 80% of the year in hospital.
