Skip Bayless’s new version of the UNDISPUTED sports debate show on FS1 has been chaotic in its first week, as Richard Sherman, Michael Irvin and Keyshawn Johnson have provided a different vibe to the show. However, different is not always better, and one of Bayless’s competitors believes the show is headed in the wrong direction.
Former ESPN personality Dan Le Batard said Bayless is trying to stay relevant by adding as many outspoken personalities to the show as possible.
“Skip Bayless is trying to keep up with changing times in his 70s by opening the gates of hell to three generations of, ‘This is the loudest Black guy who played football during his generation,’” Le Batard said. “Three generations of it. Michael Irvin, Keyshawn Johnson and Richard Sherman. Of course when they get together, because they all want to be thrown the damn ball, all of them are talking at the same time and Skip Bayless shrinks to the size of a postage stamp on his own show.”
At age 71, Bayless opted to continue debating sports without Shannon Sharpe by reinventing UNDISPUTED, leading to him getting drowned out on his own show far more often than he did previously.
“I’m just really enjoying the idea that Skip Bayless’s last evolution is, ‘All right, bleep it, let’s let everyone have at it on my show,’” Le Batard said. “This is not the game for 70-year-olds, but he’s gonna try it with three different really cartoonish loud guys.”
