Dan Le Batard is sick of Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
After Le Batard’s daily sports talk show, The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, went viral earlier this week for questioning whether or not Rodgers actually tore his Achilles, Le Batard took things one step further on Wednesday.
“Aaron Rodgers, I think your doctors are fake. Debate me,” Le Batard began. “I want to debate you on — I believe your doctors are giving misinformation on how injured you actually were. And I believe this is all a storyline plot meant for you."
The impetus of this? The fact that Rodgers believes he is ahead of schedule in his recovery, as exhibited by his presence in pregame warm ups during recent Jets games, where he has been seen doing some light throwing with three-step drop backs.
Rodgers was injured on the first possession of Week 1 with the Jets, and is just over two months removed from surgery to repair his torn Achilles tendon.
Rodgers confirmed that he’s ahead of schedule in his recovery when speaking with The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, but made it clear he’s still a ways from being back under center.
“I’m feeling a lot more strength in the Achilles but we’re a long way off from me being under center,” Rodgers said. “I like where I’m at though and I’m ahead of schedule.”
It’s unlikely Rodgers will debate Le Batard about the seriousness of his injury, but it’s clear that the talk show host doesn’t believe Rodgers is as injured as he says he is.
To each their own.
