Lions head coach Dan Campbell has already proven he can win on the football field. Now he can add commercial star to his resume. Campbell starred as a waiter at Applebee’s in a 30-second ad for the restaurant chain promoting a special on 50-cent boneless wings.
“Welcome to Applebees. Can I interest you in America’s favorite boneless wings for just 50 cents each,” Campbell asks customers with the check over his mouth, similar to that of a playcaller. He warns the customers to cover their mouth as well so that their order can’t be stolen.
The customers do so, make their order and Campbell ends with “Perfect, they’ll never see it coming.”
Campbell is one of the most-likable coaches in the league and him having fun with the commercial is the latest example why. It’s a great way to kick off the season for the Lions. And get everyone hungry at the same time.
